The Consultation Center

Our Mission

The Consultation Center develops and implements prevention services and programs to individuals and families across the life span; conducts prevention and community-based research as well as evaluations of community programs and service systems; provides services to promote the adaptation of individuals at risk for mental health and substance use disorders and of persons in recovery; provides support and technical expertise for community organizing and advocacy to community stakeholders; and provides training, consultation, and technical assistance to professionals, organizations, and governmental agencies to enhance the effectiveness, quality, efficiency, evidence-based capacity, and cultural appropriateness of services and service systems. Specialized training in prevention research and interventions is offered at graduate and postgraduate levels on an ongoing basis.

Who We Are

We are a multidisciplinary service, research, and training site that is a cooperative endeavor of the Department of Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine, the Connecticut Mental Health Center, and The Consultation Center, Inc., a private, nonprofit community organization.
