Clinical Programs

Research opportunities in the Department of Psychiatry are numerous, ranging from clinical trials of new treatments for individuals with a specific condition or psychiatric illness to studies of healthy volunteers that help to provide insights into brain function and normal mental processes. These research studies are all a critical part of our effort to develop new, safe, and effective treatments for psychiatric and addictive disorders. Studies also afford participants an opportunity to contribute to the process of discovery, to help others who may benefit from the new knowledge gained, and in many instances, to receive new treatments that may not yet be available to the general public.
