The Yale Department of Psychiatry has a strong history of research training – a commitment that remains in our efforts to seek the very best and brightest of our field’s next generation of leaders. From the highly individualized mentorship by senior Departmental faculty to the well established research programs that harness the latest technologies, to the highly elaborated and technically sophisticated research facilities available to trainees, the Department offers the key components necessary for achieving an independent and successful research career. The NRTP allows trainees to pursue clinical and research interests in parallel throughout the residency. By training with the most modern clinical, basic and translational research methods, graduates are poised to be the next generation of leaders in psychiatry and clinical neuroscience.
